  • UNKNOWN EDITION WORK
The "Shoggi" seiza meditation stool in black-stained solid beech, designed by Alain Gaubert in France around 1980. The seat is an elongated oval with a pronounced concave curve, supported by two trapezoidal legs that slot into recesses on the underside without hardware — a clean knock-down construction that breaks into three flat pieces for storage or transport. The matte black finish is consistent across all components. Minor wear to the underside of the seat — light scratches and a faint marking — in keeping with age and use; upper surfaces remain in good vintage condition. Dimensions: H 20 × W 41 × D 20 cm (7.9 × 16.1 × 7.9 in). Functional as intended or used as a low occasional stool or display plinth.
