Silver-Plated Italian Fluted Champagne Bucket by Metall Art PD - c. 1970s

One-of-a-kind piece
  • EXCLUSIVE WORK
A sculptural vintage Italian silver-plated champagne bucket or wine cooler by Metall Art PD made in the Padua area of Veneto, dating to circa the 1970s. The piece is distinguished by its dramatically spiralling ribbed body, softly scalloped rim and elegant rounded side handles. Sweeping flutes curve continuously around the vessel, creating a rhythmic play of light and reflection across the silver-plated surface. A generous pedestal base gives the bucket a strong architectural presence, while the fluid movement of the ribs brings an almost organic quality to its formal proportions. There is something particularly beautiful about the contrast between its structured silhouette and the movement of the fluting — a distinctive expression of 1970s Italian design. At approximately 20 cm high × 22 cm wide, its generous proportions make it a striking centrepiece for a dining table or bar.  The underside is marked “METALL ART PD / SILVER PLATED 1000.” Good vintage condition. The silver-plated surface retains water spotting, fine scratches and subtle signs of age and previous use. These marks are part of its vintage character and are most apparent on close inspection.
