One-of-a-kind piece

A set of eight "Salut" champagne flutes, designed by the renowned Simon Gate for Orrefors. This elegant model, originally created in 1920, is cast in a vivid emerald green with a sculptural, knopped stem, a hallmark of Gate's work during Orrefors' celebrated Art Deco period. Likely produced around the 1950s, a few glasses retain their original Orrefors foil labels. Simon Gate was a Swedish glass artist, painter, and designer. After studying at the Academy of Arts, he started working at the Orrefors glass factory in 1916, becoming one of the driving forces behind the company's rise to international acclaim. He helped define Swedish Art Deco and was awarded the Grand Prix at the 1925 Paris Exposition, cementing Swedish glass's reputation on the world stage. His work is held in the Nationalmuseum of Sweden, among others.
