Set of 6 Medea Chairs by Vittorio Nobili, Italy, 1955
This iconic set of six Medea chairs was designed in 1955 by Vittorio Nobili for Fratelli Tagliabue. A true milestone in Italian mid-century design, the Medea chair received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award at the Milan Triennale in 1956, just a year after its introduction.
The chairs feature a beautifully curved molded plywood seat with an ebonized finish on the back, elegantly paired with a minimalist black lacquered metal base. Their organic shape and innovative construction represent the perfect balance between form and function, making them a sought-after collector’s item for design enthusiasts.
These chairs are in used vintage condition, consistent with age and wear. Please refer to the photos for a detailed view of their current state. A timeless piece of Italian design history. 4 more chairs of the same model coming in soon.
