Designed by Italian artist, architect and illustrator Luigi Serafini for Sawaya & Moroni, the Suspiral chairs translate the fluidity of a hand-drawn line into sculptural form. Best known for his visionary Codex Seraphinianus, Serafini has long explored the boundary between imagination and function, bringing the same visual language to architecture, furniture and design. The continuous silhouette appears almost effortless, as though drawn in a single gesture, yet every curve is resolved with remarkable structural precision. More than functional seating, the chairs occupy the space between sculpture and furniture, introducing movement and quiet wit while remaining architecturally disciplined. Produced in Italy during the 1980s, the pair exemplifies Sawaya & Moroni’s commitment to collectible contemporary design, where artistic expression and craftsmanship converge. Sold as pair.
