Pair of Modernist Bronze and Brass Vases
Two beautifully crafted Modernist vases from the 1940s, made by renowned manufacturers GAB (Guldsmedsaktiebolaget) and Svenska Metallverken. Both pieces feature bronze and brass construction with attractive patina, showcasing the clean lines typical of 1940s Swedish design.
Despite being made by different manufacturers, they complement each other beautifully - the contrasting heights and forms create visual interest while the shared bronze/brass materials and similar patina tie them together perfectly. Each vase has original inscriptions from 1942 and 1948 - these were commonly given as gifts or awards in Sweden during that period, which adds to their authenticity and history. Both pieces are properly marked with their respective makers' marks on the base.
