Large Italian Cast Aluminum Valet Tray by PLM Design, 1980s
In the 1980s, Italian design extensively explored the possibilities of cast aluminum. Lightweight, resistant and easily shaped, this material allowed the production of domestic objects with elongated and minimalist forms, often conceived as decorative elements in their own right. Large valet tray produced by PLM Design , Italy, 1980s. Made from cast and polished aluminum, it has an elongated, almost shuttle-like shape with a slight central indentation designed to hold small items. The industrial manufacturing process remains precise, with a smooth surface and finely rounded edges. The PLM Design mark is visible on the reverse.
The condition is good. The aluminum shows some minor scratches and light signs of wear, consistent with its age. The surface retains a uniform patina and a beautiful metallic sheen. The piece measures approximately 44.5 cm in length , 11 cm in width and 2 cm in height . Its elongated shape gives it a discreet yet graphic presence. Place it on an entryway console, coffee table, or desk. It allows you to group keys, mail, or small accessories while visually structuring the surface.
