A large sculptural ceramic vase by Accolay, France, dating to circa 1960s–1970s. Named after the Burgundy village where it was produced, Accolay became known for expressive French ceramics defined by organic forms, rich glazes and a distinctive handcrafted character. At 29.5cm high - The piece is defined by its rounded, weighty body, narrow waist and gently flared neck, giving it a strong but restrained silhouette. The exterior is finished in a deep brown glaze with warm rust and ochre undertones, creating a rich, earthy surface with subtle tonal movement throughout. Fine speckling within the glaze adds depth and texture, shifting softly depending on the light. Signed Accolay to the underside.
