Italian Box in Smoked Plexiglass
Around 1970, plexiglass became a central material in Italian design, allowing for unprecedented plays of transparency and layering, often associated with textured finishes. Italian rectangular box, 1970s, unattributed. The structure is made of smoked plexiglass with amber hues, combined with a molded transparent plexiglass base and lid, the surface of which is intentionally irregular. The overall effect is based on a contrast between the deep color and the raw material, typical of certain Italian pieces from this period. Good overall condition.
Some minor scratches from use are visible on the surfaces, but these do not affect the legibility of the materials. The plexiglass retains excellent transparency and a uniform color. Compact size, approximately 15 cm long, 10 cm wide and 5.5 cm high. Ideal as a desk box, for jewelry or small items, placed alone or integrated into a set of plexiglass pieces.
