In 1980s Italy, lacquered woodwork experienced a resurgence in popularity, driven by a taste for deep surfaces and bold contrasts. This box is a measured illustration of this trend. Italian production, 1980s. Wooden structure, forest green lacquer applied in successive layers, glossy finish. Patinated gold frame forming a clean border on the lid and base. Light wood interior, left natural, revealing a subtle grain. Careful craftsmanship, precise joinery, balanced proportions. The condition is very good. The lacquer shows slight signs of wear, consistent with its age.
The gilt patina is even, without major damage. The interior is clean. The dimensions — 16.5 cm long, 11 cm wide and 8 cm high — offer a comfortable volume without cluttering the space.
