French Sculptural Adjustable Tripod Floor Lamp, 1950s

An elegant and highly sculptural floor lamp from France, dating to the 1950s, characterized by its exceptionally slender proportions and expressive tripod base. The lamp consists of a long, minimal black metal stem rising from three beautifully curved legs. Each leg sweeps outward from the central column, creating a light, almost drawn silhouette. Despite its considerable height, the restrained construction gives the lamp a remarkably delicate presence. Subtle brass details around the lamp holder provide a warm contrast to the dark metal structure. The articulated brass holder allows the shade to be tilted and positioned at different angles, adding both functionality and character to the design. The lamp is finished with a new handmade fabric shade, specially made for the piece. Its broad, low profile complements the tall, narrow structure and diffuses a soft, warm light. The adjustable shade also allows the direction and atmosphere of the light to be changed according to the setting.
