Elena Barber is a London-based artist. Searching for the nature of equilibrium Elena has develop a visual language of marks informed by personal experiences which are gathered together in an archive that exist as drawings, collages and films which are later translated into paintings. Elena views her practice as an appropriation, translation and recycling of experienced reality. Her interest in capturing time and memory through these forms often provides a sense of the familiar yet unusual. Elena’s consciousness of balance is informed by an awareness of the body and its relative situation of space.
