Draped Vase Apparel

french designerhandcrafted
All our ceramic furniture and objects are carefully handcrafted, making each piece unique. Differences in texture, shape and color may occur due to the use of natural materials and the firing process. We consider these natural variations to be a beautiful part of each piece. Firing at 1260 degrees reveals the different nuances of the natural clay and reinforces the singular and unique aspect of each piece. Pieces can be gently cleaned with a soft dry cloth or damp sponge.

Product Information

Overview

The DRAPÉ vase, with its two complementary forms, challenges the codes of a traditional vase. The floral composition combined with the vase aesthetic creates a sculptural object that leaves to contemplate, each day, a different and singular piece. These 5 vases with singular shapes are inspired by the movements of fabric, leather or clothing when they are handled or worn on a body. These forms, where randomness finds its place, have an aesthetic all about curves and flexibility. Shaped with the slab building technique, we then take a mould of the design to freeze its shape. The vase is finally slip casted in white porcelain.

About the Artist

Lisa Allegra was introduced to clay during her studies at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg.
