A Book Shelf is a sculptural bookshelf designed to hold only one or two selected books, transforming storage into a quiet ritual of choice, memory, and attention. Inspired by a childhood memory of reaching only the lowest shelf of a bookcase, the piece reflects on knowledge, scale, and the relationship between the body and the objects it encounters. Its rocky surface recalls stones from a mountain valley, while the dark oak gives the work a grounded, almost temple-like presence. Functional yet intentionally limited, A Book Shelf sits between furniture and sculpture, inviting the viewer to slow down and reconsider what a bookshelf can be.
