Bronze Wall Relief by David Jahrl
Bronze wall plaque attributed to Swedish artist David Jahrl (1878-1953). Crafted in the 1930s during the end of the Swedish Grace movement, Sweden's distinctive interpretation of Art Deco, this relief depicts a figure in graceful motion with flowing ribbon elements. The piece showcases Jahrl's characteristic attention to form and movement, crafted in beautifully patinated bronze with distinctive verdigris highlights.
David Jahrl was a Swedish multi-disciplinary artist. He studied at the Technical School in Stockholm from 1904, followed by studies in Paris at Academie Collarossi and Academic Julian. Despite early challenges, Jahrl developed a distinguished artistic career, producing bronze sculptures, paintings, and lithographs with pieces represented in the National Museum in Stockholm.
