A minimal abstract landscape entitled Gråväder (Grey Weather) by the Swedish artist and print maker Arne Olsson (1918-2004). Calm tones of browns and greys depict a barren and moody landscape with a glimpse of a brightening horizon in the upper left corner.

Born in Västernorrland, Olsson studied at Otte Sköld’s painting school in Stockholm, travelling to Norway, France, Portugal and Morocco during his studies. Among his public works are a mural in Örnsköldsvik, a grid work for Sundsvallsbanken in Sollefteå and a sculpture 'New York', New York which was gifted to the UN Headquarters by King Carl XVI Gustaf in 1991.

Swedish, Oil on canvas, original artist frame in pine wood, monogrammed signed, Possibly Midcentury.
