Product Information

Overview

Experience the timeless charm of a naive still life painting from 1979, created by the renowned Swedish artist Gunnar Hållander (1915-1980). This endearing piece, titled 'Ägg pÃ¥ Olje Kanna' or 'Egg on a Oil Can', beautifully captures the simplicity and beauty of everyday objects, reminiscent of the naivety portrayed in the works of Scottish artist William Scott.

As the son of a fishmonger, Hållander was a self-taught artist who received a scholarship from Örnsköldsvik's art association in 1950. This opportunity allowed him to travel and study in Paris, Madrid, and Lisbon, shaping his unique artistic style. Specializing in still lifes, portraits, and landscapes, Hållander's work is proudly represented at the National Museet and Moderna Museet in Stockholm.
