'Gi' Chair
Gi was created as a provocation, with the phrase “too simple to be true” serving as the foundation for its development. This chair intrigues through its simplicity, drawing the viewer closer in search of what might be missing. The absence of traditional structural elements creates an empty space that becomes the true protagonist of the piece.
The curves of the edges and backrest are hand-sculpted, featuring smooth, flowing declinations that evoke organic forms found in nature. Its execution was made possible by anticipating the natural behavior of the wood, positioning the seat’s grain to curve upward and allowing the front legs to follow the movement. The result is an apparently simple, almost elemental chair, which holds within its details the complex beauty of nature.
