After creating her Rhythm artworks using cotton rag paper, Marike began experimenting with other materials that reflect her passion for haptic textures.The natural character of wood veneer creates a beautiful color gradient in this line of work. For example, a single strip of cherry or walnut veneer can contain so many color variations that each piece develops its own unique character.
