About the Artist

Barlet Soeurs is first and foremost a family story. Guided by their love of tableware, two sisters with different backgrounds and sensibilities - Anne Sophie, a print designer for leading fashion houses, and Bénédicte, a pharmacy assistant - decided to take on a common challenge: the creation of hand-decorated earthenware. Anne-Sophie will create the motifs, Bénédicte the volumes. A series of objects inspired by the decorative arts was born. Ornaments evoking strange, hybrid herbariums, a blend of the graphic and the organic, stale flowers, weathered plants, mixtures of the seasons. The Barlet Soeurs collections are designed in Paris and the pieces are made in the St Symphorien-des-Bois workshop, where all models are hand-crafted, unique, cast, stamped in molds or by modeling, then hand-decorated and enameled.
