'Yara' Chair

Yara emerged as a result of research into steam-bending wood conducted by the studio in 2022. This is a legless chair, supported by two circles of solid wood that have been steam-bent. Yara is a flexing chair, with its entire structure reacting proportionally to the weight of the sitter, changing and adapting together. A disruptive piece, its sculptural form, simple lines, and the combination of its elements challenge the conventional status of a chair.

It invites curiosity through both its construction system and its aesthetics. Composed of a combination of basic geometric shapes joined by unusual joints, this chair presents two perspectives: one that is modernist and minimalist, characterized by light and simple geometry, and another that evokes an ancient elegance reminiscent of classic furniture.
