In 1966, renowned architect Mario Bellini was enlisted by C&B Italia to design two new pieces: the Amanta armchair and the Quattro Gatti coffee tables. This collaboration was in line with the company's mission to support exceptional designs and partner with top architects in Italy. The Amanta armchair, released in 1966, boasts a frame crafted from reinforced polyester in a single piece, made possible by C&B Italia's purchase of a 1500 ton press. The frame is strengthened by a central slot, while its visible structure serves as a defining feature. The armchair sits on four rubber spheres, providing a soft, steady contact with the floor. This groundbreaking design has become the standard for one-seater modules and can even be combined to form a two-seater sofa.
