Viviane Sassen - In and Out of Fashion, Prestel Photobook, 2013

Viviane Sassen’s In and Out of Fashion, published by Prestel in 2013, is a landmark survey of the Dutch photographer’s highly distinctive fashion photography. Spanning seventeen years of work, the volume brings together Sassen’s campaigns and editorial projects for leading fashion houses and publications including Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, Adidas, Carven, Bergdorf Goodman, i-D, Numéro, Purple, AnOther Magazine, Dazed & Confused and The New York Times Magazine. Moving between fashion and fine-art photography, her images are defined by sculptural poses, radical cropping, intense colour, deep shadow and an often surreal approach to the human body.
