Ukrainian architect and designer Victoria Yakusha celebrates her heritage through sustainable, organic design. Inspired by folk art, she founded YAKUSHA studio in 2006 and the furniture brand FAINA in 2014. FAINA crafts furnishings by hand using authentic Ukrainian materials and historic techniques like valkuvannia (clay coating). The brand even developed ztista, its own sustainable material made of clay, cellulose, and wood chips. Yakusha’s work has been showcased at design weeks in Paris, Milan, and Stockholm, earning prestigious ELLE DECO and Arte Laguna awards. In 2021, her Kyiv interior "Istetyka" became the first Ukrainian project to win a Dezeen Award.
