Blue Murano Glass Tray by Salviati, 1960s
In 1960s Italy, artistic glassmaking experienced a marked revival, driven by the workshops of Murano, which explored circular forms, intense colors, and impeccable control of glass thickness. This trinket tray perfectly illustrates this quest for balance between technique and formal simplicity. Salviati production, circa 1960. Murano glass, blown and then shaped into successive rings, with a hollowed center highlighted in a deep blue characteristic of the house. The transitions between the different levels are clean and regular, attesting to the work of a workshop accustomed to high-end decorative pieces. The piece is signed "Salviati," a detail appreciated by collectors. In perfect condition, without any noticeable chips or scratches. The brilliance of the glass and the intensity of the blue are perfectly preserved. This piece comes from a private collection in Parma.
