One-of-a-kind piece
Rare sculptural Italian table lamp by VeArt, attributed to Venetian designer Enzo Berti, circa 1980s. The striking construction combines a substantial cast-iron cylindrical base with sweeping black metal arches supporting a large white glass shade. The shade can be tilted, allowing the silhouette and direction of the light to be subtly adjusted. The contrast between the architectural iron structure and the elegant glass shade gives the lamp an almost sculptural presence, characteristic of experimental Italian lighting design of the period. The cast-iron base has developed an attractive natural patina over time, adding depth and character to the piece. VeArt was known for combining Italian industrial design with the Venetian glassmaking tradition and collaborated with designers including Enzo Berti. This model is attributed to Berti based on documented examples and its close relationship to his lighting designs for VeArt. A rare and highly decorative piece of Italian postmodern lighting. 55 cm high approx. 35 cm diameter approx. 5 kg European plug
