A three-armed Modernist/Functionalist ceiling lamp from Sweden, 1930s–40s, combining nickel-plated metal with a black lacquered wooden sphere and fitter, and shades in warm beige glass. Playful yet restrained forms typical of the 'Functionalism' era, which was the Swedish counterpart to the Bauhaus and International Style movements, favoring clean, simple lines over ornamentation. The shades glow with a honey-yellow tone when lit, while the black lacquered details add an almost graphic contrast. A wonderful example of Scandinavian design, blending elegant materials with restrained, functional form. Rewired and earthed by a professional electrician, with original E27 sockets insulated for safety and fitted with a EU plug. For use with LED bulbs only
