The Souvenir Floor Lamp by Kawabi is a totem-like lamp inspired by spiritual gateways and portals. The piece highlights a pleated paper illumination over an architectural frame in wood. Japanese joinery connects a live edge slab to the frame, where a brass object—the dimmable touch switch—hangs above a rock tray to conjure up the feeling of a wind chime in a garden. Each lamp is handmade with traditional wood and paper-making techniques in the designers' New York studio. Materials: American black walnut, Japanese kozo paper, granite, rattan, brass.
