STUDIO VON SCHOENEBECK is a Munich-based creative collaboration between designer Johannes von Schoenebeck and curator Magdalena Shterianova. With backgrounds in design, fine art, and film, they merge conceptual thinking with hands-on making. Magdalena, who grew up in a film family in Moscow, studied Art History in Munich and directed several short films before turning to photography and design. Johannes trained as a furniture maker and holds a Master’s in Design Products from the Royal College of Art. Their practice spans collectible design and functional art, exploring memory, emotion, and cultural heritage through poetic, narrative forms. Their studio is also their home—tucked under the roof, filled with prototypes, marquettes, samples, books, and ever-evolving ideas.
