Originally from Chongqing, China, Jialun Xiong is a designer based in Los Angeles who explores the concepts of duality and creativity restraint in her designs for interiors, furnishings, lighting, and accessories. Xiong's design objects are graphic, dramatic, and intentionally crafted, pushing the limits of their construction. With a background in interior architecture and furniture design, Xiong skillfully considers the relationship between objects and spatial volumes, drawing inspiration from the mountainous landscape and high-rise architecture of her hometown, as well as the functional minimalism of the International Style of architecture. Her designs create spatial environments and furnishings with an abstract geometric approach that precisely frames the human experience within them.
