Luke Crouch Studio is a one-person furniture practice based on Tasmania’s Central Plateau, creating limited furniture objects in solid Australian hardwood. Each piece is carved, hewn and joined by hand using traditional tools and chair-making construction, including wedged through-tenons, rungs and hand-shaped seats. The work sits between functional furniture and collectible design: useful enough to live with, distinct enough to hold presence in a room. Shaped through resistance, the objects retain evidence of material, labour and process rather than industrial uniformity.
