Portal Amber Halo I Mirror
Fait sur commande — créé spécialement pour vous
Portal Amber Halo I is a rectangular wall mirror exploring the threshold between reflection and transparency.
An irregular central area of clear glass interrupts the mirrored surface, framed by a dark gradient shifting from black to amber. This shifting boundary destabilises the reflected image, creating an uncertain perceptual space between what is reflected and what lies beyond. The colour of the wall on which the work is mounted remains visible through the transparent glass centre, becoming an integral part of the composition.
The gradient is created using light-sensitive inks whose colour intensity varies with the surrounding light. Its appearance may therefore differ slightly from the images shown, depending on the lighting conditions in the space where the work is displayed.
Made in Italy from laminated mirror and clear glass, with concealed stainless-steel wall-mounting profiles. The work is part of a limited edition of eight.

FAQ
Given the 85kg weight and concealed stainless-steel wall profiles, is professional installation required or can it be self-mounted?
The mirror arrives fully assembled and can be self-mounted, with no professional installation required.
Are all mounting fixtures included, and which wall types are suitable to safely support this 85kg piece (e.g. solid masonry, plasterboard)?
The concealed mounting profiles are included, along with standard screws and wall plugs. Some wall types may require specialist fixings, which are purchased separately. The mirror can be mounted on a variety of wall types, provided the wall can safely support its weight and appropriate fixings are used. Please note that 85 kg refers to the total shipping weight including the crate and packaging, not the mirror's net weight.
Does the work come with a signed certificate of authenticity and will the specific edition number (X of 8) be indicated at purchase?
Yes, the work comes with a signed certificate of authenticity, and the specific edition number will be indicated at the time of purchase.
What are the recommended care and cleaning instructions, particularly for the light-sensitive ink gradient and laminated mirror surface?
Clean gently with a soft, lint-free microfibre cloth and a streak-free, ammonia-free glass cleaner. Always apply the cleaner to the cloth rather than directly onto the surface, and avoid abrasive materials and solvents to protect the finish.
As this is made-to-order, can the mirror be produced in custom dimensions or orientation?
This piece is produced in its standard dimensions and orientation only, and cannot be customised.
Since the light-sensitive inks change with lighting, are they UV-stable/lightfast over time, or will the amber gradient fade or degrade with prolonged exposure?
The inks are UV-protected and maintain their colour over time. The amber gradient's perceived intensity naturally varies with lighting conditions, appearing more vivid in natural daylight. This variation is a characteristic of the design and does not indicate fading or colour degradation.
