Certificate of Authenticity

A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is a document issued by a reputable source that confirms the genuineness of an artwork. Often, COAs are signed by the artist, but they can also be signed by the gallery representing the artist or the printmaker who collaborated on the piece. For works sold in the secondary market, COAs are frequently issued by authorized estates or foundations.

COAs usually contain the artist's name, the artwork's title, date, medium, and dimensions, and, whenever possible, an image of the piece.

Winged Hand-coiled clay vessels extended by cantilevered slabs — some reaching the ground to form leg-like supports, others held aloft, caught between grounded and airborne. Each piece is built from a single hollow cylinder, then shaped by weight and gesture rather than by a fixed plan, so no two pieces resolve the same way. Fired to a dark, metallic surface, the works read as sculptural objects first and vessels second — structural, upright, with a strong sense of movement even at rest. Suited to freestanding display: a plinth, a console, or a considered floor position where the piece's negative space and silhouette can be seen in the round. Each piece is entirely unique — no two alike, none repeatable. The glaze is developed to resemble metal, giving the surface unusual weight and permanence. Cracks and marks from the making process are left visible rather than smoothed away, so the surface reads as expressive, almost wounded — the direct trace of pressure, heat, and the material's own resistance during firing.
