Certificate of Authenticity

A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is a document issued by a reputable source that confirms the genuineness of an artwork. Often, COAs are signed by the artist, but they can also be signed by the gallery representing the artist or the printmaker who collaborated on the piece. For works sold in the secondary market, COAs are frequently issued by authorized estates or foundations.

COAs usually contain the artist's name, the artwork's title, date, medium, and dimensions, and, whenever possible, an image of the piece.

The world is built on dualities—pain and blessing, joy and sorrow. This piece begins with the idea that healing can emerge when opposites come into unity. The work is created by sewing fabric, immersing it in pine resin, and then shaping it using a blowing technique, where air is introduced into the resin-soaked form. Through this process, soft fabric transforms into a solid object, while resin—the tree’s natural healing balm—becomes the conceptual core of the piece. As pine resin and fabric permeate one another, the artificial structure and natural fluidity merge into a single form. The final object embodies oneness, symbolizing how opposing forces can converge into healing. This artwork is the first piece in the guérison series.
