Still Life, Pastel on Paper, Carl Gunnar von Gegerfelt ( 1926 - 2012)
A still life, pastel on paper by Swedish artist Carl Gunnar von Gegerfelt ( 1926 - 2012), depicting a pair on decanters on a garden table. Mounted and framed in white washed wood. Gegerfelt studied at the Konstfackskolan (University College of Arts, Crafts and Design), Stockholm (1945-1946) and under the French sculptor, painter, teacher and writer André Lhote (1885-1962) in Paris (1946-47).
Gegerfelt then returned to Stockholm to study at Otte Sköld's (Otte Skölds målarskola) painting school (1948-1950) and with the Danish painter Vilhelm Bjerke-Petersen (1909-1957) in 1950. Gegerfelt also studied Art History at Stockholm University (Stockholms Högskola).
Examples of Gegerfelt's work are held in the collections of the Länsmuseet Gävleborg, Gävle; Statens Konstråd (Public Art Agency), Stockholm; Hudiksvall Museum; Stockholm City Hall and Sveriges Riksdag (Parliment House). Examples of his public works can be seen at the Sparbanken (Savings Bank) in Edsbyn; Hudiksvall Hospital; The Linnvasselv Power Plant and the Esso Motor Hotel in Söderhamn.
