Stainless Steel Sculpture - Monolith Series

The Monolith Sculpture is a mirror-polished stainless steel floor sculpture from the Monolith Collection by Nitush Aroosh. Standing 180 cm tall, it holds a room through presence rather than gesture, its crisp Grade 304 surface returning the environment in fluid, ever-shifting patterns. Monolith forms are hydroformed, inflated under high water pressure into hollow bodies, then worked with hammers by hand to raise the gentle undulations that animate them. The result looks solid and immovable yet is never fixed, because the mirror finish is the work's principal medium and every encounter is shaped by what happens to be reflected in it. At human height the sculpture makes each reflection personal and immediate, suiting large domestic rooms and architectural settings where scale and light can be fully read. Brothers Nitush and Aroosh Mahipal founded Nitush Aroosh in New Delhi, India.
