Stainless Steel Chair - Tronco Series

The Tronco Seat is a mirror-polished stainless steel chair from the Tronco Collection by Nitush Aroosh, a log section reimagined upright as seating. The steel folds with a naturalness that makes the form feel found rather than drawn, and the piece reads differently from every angle and in every light. Each Tronco form is hydroformed, expanded under high water pressure into a hollow, lightweight body, then finished by hand with hammers to raise the undulating texture the series is known for. The mirror surface pulls the room into the form itself, making each piece a lens on its own surroundings. Roughly 30% lighter than a cast equivalent and made throughout in rust-resistant Grade 304 steel, the seat moves easily between interiors and covered outdoor settings. Brothers Nitush and Aroosh Mahipal founded Nitush Aroosh in New Delhi, India, teaching themselves the processes their work depends on. Their practice pushes stainless steel past its industrial origins into forms that are fluid, reflective and alive with light. Dimensions: 68 x 82 x H 90 cm. Material: Grade 304 stainless steel.
