Nova Pendant Light - Black terracotta & Gold

Suspended between earth and sky, Nova captures the essence of a Mediterranean horizon: a glowing halo crowned with paper and anchored in clay. With its square, architectural base and delicate paper ring, Nova evokes the silhouette of an ancient tower shimmering under the midday sun. By day, its sculptural presence anchors the space; by night, it reveals a warmer, more luminous character, as the light catches the hand-applied golden interior of the terracotta structure.

Nova Black & Gold The exterior is finished in a deep matte black, giving the terracotta a quiet, architectural presence. Inside, the surface is entirely covered with a fine gold paint, applied by hand to create a subtle reflective glow. When illuminated, the golden interior catches and reflects the light, creating a warm, enveloping radiance that contrasts with the understated black exterior.

The result is a suspension that shifts between two expressions: sculptural and restrained by day, luminous and almost celestial by night. The combination of black-painted terracotta and gold creates a deeper sense of light and material, revealing the handcrafted character of the piece while giving the suspension a more precious and intimate atmosphere.

Crafted in France Maison Cédrat collaborates with a family-run brickworks near Toulouse and a traditional paper manufacturer in the South of France. Each Nova is meticulously assembled by hand, blending artisanal craftsmanship with refined, contemporary design. We offer refined materials and French craftsmanship. Below is a list of the components used: → Extruded terracotta core: sculpted and fired locally. → Hand-rolled Japanese washi paper crown: porous and luminous. → Brass canopy and suspension rod*. → Turned beech wood pulleys. → Tungsten handles. *The brass rod suspension can be modified upon request.
