  • LIMITED EDITION WORK
Three hand-burnt grids in jangpan hanji, each denser than the last, a quiet study in accumulation across a wall-mounted triptych. Mounted on cradled wood, the paper's surface bears fire marks that can't be undone, each intersection slightly charred where the heat pooled longest. A single black disc, a moon trace (월흔), interrupts the third panel's rhythm. Warm terracotta tones tie the three together, echoing the ochre of jangpan hanji itself. Jangpan Hanji on cradled wood, worked with heat and fire. Wall-mounted relief. Each panel 20.3 x 15.2 x 5.6 cm. Sold as a triptych. 2026

FAQ
How should the hand-burnt jangpan hanji surface be cared for and protected from dust, humidity, and light? Is any protective coating or glazing applied?
A protective varnish coating is applied during the making process to guard the jangpan hanji surface against dust and moisture. To care for it, gently dust with a soft, dry cloth and avoid direct contact with water or liquids. Keep the piece away from direct sunlight and high humidity to preserve the paper's tone and the fire-marked surface over time.
Is there a recommended spacing/gap between the three panels for correct display, and can the panels be arranged in a different order than shown?
There is no fixed spacing or order required. The three panels can be hung with or without gaps and arranged in any sequence. They also display beautifully in vertical or alternative compositions beyond the horizontal row shown, allowing you to arrange them to suit your space.
