Quirky large glazed ceramic plate with striking graphic contrast, portraying a seated nude figure, by Claude Vayssier (B. 1935) for Atelier Cerenne, Vallauris. Carved and glazed, the back is signed by Claude Vayssier, the decorator. The front edge is complemented by a brown and cream pattern with repeating squiggly lines. Claude Vayssier was a decorator at Cerenne from 1952 to 1953. Created by Charles René Neveux, the Cerenne workshop was active from 1945 to 1958.
