One-of-a-kind piece

A beautifully engineered example of French modernist lighting, the Jumo 600 features an adjustable domed shade and articulated, pivoting stem set on a weighted circular base with an integrated switch. Its restrained construction allows the light to be positioned with remarkable flexibility while giving the lamp its distinctive, almost sculptural silhouette. Jumo lamps were admired by Charlotte Perriand for their quality, functionality and economy of design. She selected them for Le Bazar, the influential exhibition held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1949, and incorporated Jumo lighting into several of her interior projects. This example retains a beautifully aged original patina, giving the polished metal surface a particularly rich character.
