Italian Patinated Metal Box, 1950

Italian metalwork of the 1950s often combined industrial precision with decorative restraint. This square box is a good example: silver-patinated metal construction, hinged lid decorated with a raised belt-and-buckle motif in geometric relief, and a three-compartment interior lined with raw wood. The exterior shows a rich, even patina with visible brass undertones on the sides — a natural result of age and use. Edges show light wear consistent with the period. Interior in good condition.
