One-of-a-kind piece

A recurring format in Italian decorative design of the 1970s: combining mirror glass, extruded lucite, and brass hardware to produce lightweight, transparent objects with strong graphic presence. This rectangular tray follows that logic precisely — a mirror glass base framed by two ribbed lucite rods, connected at each corner by turned brass fittings with spherical terminals, and raised on four small rubber feet. The assembly is clean and well-executed. The ribbed lucite picks up light at varying angles, adding depth to an otherwise minimal composition. Maker and designer unidentified. Italian production, circa 1970. Condition: very good for age. Light surface scratches on the mirror glass, visible only at raking light. Brass intact, lucite with no cracks or yellowing. Dimensions: H 4 cm × W 20 cm × L 28 cm. Suited for a dressing table, desk, or console. Works as a presentation tray, catchall, or perfume stand.
