Giovanni Offredi for Saporiti Italian Burl Wood Dining Table, 1980

A rare and sculptural dining table designed by Giovanni Offredi for Saporiti Italia, Italy, circa 1980. Executed in beautifully figured wood with a remarkable depth of color, transitioning between deep burgundy red, warm mahogany and rich reddish-brown tones, with subtle amber highlights. The natural variations in grain and color lend the surface an almost painterly quality, giving the table a distinctive warmth and visual richness. The generous rectangular tabletop with softly rounded corners rests on a striking architectural base composed of sculptural vertical elements. Its geometric construction and refined proportions reflect Offredi’s distinctive approach to furniture design. An exceptional example of Italian design from the 1980s, combining bold architectural forms with sophisticated materials and craftsmanship.
