A French still life with broad, visible brushstrokes and overlapping planes of colour. Muted greens and blue-greys are lifted by deep red, ochre and soft peach tones. The tilted perspective and angular folds of fabric bring movement to the scene, balanced by the upright form of the bottle. Presented on untreated canvas, raw edge and unframed. Signed on reverse. 46 × 61cm. Good condition for age.
