ALMA is a sculptural armchair hand-sculpted from solid beech wood. Its continuous silhouette flows from the rounded backrest into the seat and curved base, creating an enveloping organic form with a strong sculptural presence. The wood is carefully carved, refined and stained before being finished in deep glossy black, highlighting the smooth curves and sensual character of the piece. Handmade in France, ALMA reflects Antoine Maurice’s practice of combining contemporary furniture design, functional sculpture, organic forms and traditional woodworking craftsmanship.
