This work is part of the Je Pense, donc Je Suis series, in which the figure emerges from what remains after the surrounding field has been reduced to a deep, monochromatic presence. This process of visual reduction echoes the cogito: I may doubt the body, the senses, and the external world, but I cannot doubt the act of thinking itself, because thought occurs as I think. In this sense, thought becomes the essential proof of existence.
