A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is a document issued by a reputable source that confirms the genuineness of an artwork. Often, COAs are signed by the artist, but they can also be signed by the gallery representing the artist or the printmaker who collaborated on the piece. For works sold in the secondary market, COAs are frequently issued by authorized estates or foundations.

COAs usually contain the artist's name, the artwork's title, date, medium, and dimensions, and, whenever possible, an image of the piece.

Edgar Bąk is one of the most gifted Polish graphic designers today. In 2022, he designed “Chaos” for Splot, which has become a modern classic of Polish kilims and has found its way both into the hearts of our clients and in the collections of Polish museums, such as the Silesian Museum in Katowice as well as the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź.„The Vertigo” kilim with its open composition refers both to the sensibility of op art, and to the distant echoes of vibrant Hutsul textiles that were fashionable in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Characteristic of his style, Edgar Bąk used an elementary geometric figure – in this case, the quadrilateral – to build a complex pattern that seems to create a spatial effect. Surprisingly there is a method to this madness!‍ We craft our contemporary, expressive kilims with a dense, refined texture, woven on a linen warp. The wool we use is hand-spun, and its soft bouclé texture gives the kilims a subtle irregularity and depth, building their organic, unique character. Each kilim can be compared to a loaf of traditional bread: made from the same ingredients and by the same skilled artisans, yet each one comes out unique.
