Sold unframed. Regarde-moi – Le Rouge (2020) explores the multiplicity of identity and the different faces we inhabit throughout our lives. The work brings together two distinct yet intimately connected faces, evoking the shifting selves that emerge across the different spheres of our lives: the persona we present to the outside world, the self revealed in intimacy, the identity we assume in professional spaces, and the many others shaped by our relationships, experiences, and circumstances. Rather than presenting these different faces as disguises or contradictions, the work considers them as integral parts of a complex and evolving sense of self. Through the fragmentation and merging of facial features, distinct identities become visually intertwined, creating a figure in which the boundaries between faces remain deliberately fluid. A face.
