Regain Normandie One-drawer Side Table in Solid Elm

A sculptural bedside table from the Normandie collection by Regain, crafted in solid elm circa the 1980s. Sharing the collection’s distinctive architectural language, this piece combines a compact, monolithic silhouette with the warmth and expressive grain of natural wood. The rectangular body is defined by bold horizontal bands of solid elm, sculpted into a rhythmic relief that wraps around the drawer front and sides. A single integrated drawer provides discreet storage, while the recessed block-like plinth gives the piece a grounded, architectural presence. The richly figured elm displays warm honey and amber tones, highlighting the natural variations of the wood. Balancing functional design with a strong sculptural character, this bedside table embodies the understated, rustic modernism of French furniture design in the 1980s. Its substantial proportions and tactile surfaces make it a natural companion to the Regain Normandie chest and the Normandie bed frame, while allowing it to stand alone as a distinctive accent in a contemporary interior.
